It's been a while

I know it has been FOREVER since I have posted anything. Thanks for the reminder Jennie!! So here is the last two months in a summary.

November- not a lot happened. Thanksgiving at my sisters in laws and a quick game of poker before heading to my in laws for another round of food. I really think I have gained more weight in the last two months than necessary.

December- again nothing really exciting happened. We had Christmas at both parents house which thankfully they split them up. Christmas Eve at my in laws and Christmas day with my family. Santa was very good to me. My wonderful husband got me the one thing I have been asking for, for several years. Diamond earrings!!! My in laws spoiled me rotten along with my parents. My MIL got me a table for my Stamping, so be looking for an update on what my room is going to look like, and a wooden file cabinet for my colored paper!!! My parents got me a rolling organizer. So my stamp room is starting to look like a stamp room. And one of my bestest good friends Jami crazydaisycreations husband made my probably the best present I could ever ask for!! He made me a stamp pad holder and a ribbon holder!!! He is handy, that is why I call him "handy Andy" I cannot wait to get my room set up!!

That is pretty much my last two months summed up.

There is something else that has happened that is a real downer, but it is something we all must face. My best friend of 22 years and her family are facing something I would never wish on anyone. Her dad is losing his battle with cancer. When she told me I took the news really hard. Her parents are like my parents, just like my parents are like hers. I ask that everyone keep him in your prayers. They are only giving him a few weeks to live. Please keep her family in your prayers!!

Thank you all for checking, and sorry I have not been keeping up on my blog. I promise with the New Year, more creativity and more post.

God Bless and Happy New Year!!!

Not my best work

Okay so I have a friend having a baby in December. I have learned how to make "rag" quilts and tend to give those as baby shower gifts. Well her shower was last weekend and I was not able to attend the shower. But I still wanted to make her a quilt. I had a day off work last week so I headed to Hobby Lobby to get the makings of a quilt. I was so excited to get working on this that I finished it in one day. I can tell I finished it in one day because it looks really bad! My squares are uneven and there are colors too close together for my liking.

My mother, bless her, told me it looked great. So has everyone else I have shown it to. I really don't like it, when I told my mom that she told me to give it to her dog for Christmas and make another one for my friend, I am toying with the idea, but don't know for sure. I guess I will have to make another one and see which one I like best I guess. Let me know what you think. I can always use the extra criticism.

Christmas anyone?

Okay so I am a little ahead of schedule, but my mom wants to make her own Christmas cards and so do I. So I thought I would get started on mine while we wait for her newest order to come in. I came up with 3 different cards and don't know which one I like best. My husband likes the navy with snowflakes or the red one with the hat and mittens. Let me know what you guys think. I like them all, maybe I will make them all, yeah right.

It's been awhile, but I've been crafty

So I know it has been a while, but in that time, I have been busy. I made a lot of cards, but didn't get pictures of all of them. But here are a few of the ones I got. The first one is for my husband's cousin who recently had a baby and they had a shower for him.
Next two are for friends who have been having a difficult week or two and I thought a homemade card would cheer them up!!

All new

Okay, so with the up and coming birthday, I have received gifts from a couple of the girls at work and thought I would make a few thank yous for the gifts. Not knowing if anyone else at work would be giving gifts I made a few extras it is always nice to have extra thank yous on hand anyway, right?

Next one of my most favorite patients at work had foot surgery recently I thought I would make her a card letting her know I am thinking about her and hopes she will be back to see me within the next couple of weeks. She said she was going to stop by work tomorrow to see me for my birthday so I got her card ready to give to her tomorrow if she makes it. We will see. Keep checking back to see what else I can make.

Oh by the way, one more day till Husker Football!!!

Up coming events!!!

So my MIL's birthday was Tuesday and being the wonderful DIL I am ;) I made her a card, but wouldn't you know, my camera is dead and I cannot find batteries for it. So I have no picture of her card. Which is okay because I really wasn't impressed with it.

What has been happening here? Well we have had rain the past 3 days. So bad that my street was flooded. This is when I learned that my camera was dead. I thought it would be nice to share our wonderful Nebraska weather. I hear we are in for a horrible winter, colder, and snowier than ever. But I guess over time you get use to that kind of weather right?

Now what I have to look forward to.....NU vs. Nevada, I am so excited that football season is finally starting. And aw yes, Styx and 38 Special. They will be here for my birthday, which is really the only reason they are going to be in my great city!!! Actually, we have a wonderful event center here that has been really good at getting bands to play here. Just this summer friends and I saw Eric Church, Tracy Lawrence, and Phil Vassar. On my anniversary Pat Banatar was here also. Didn't make it to her and from what I hear I didn't miss much. I am however PUMPED to see Styx and 38 Special. They are going to be here on September 2nd which happens to be the day after my birthday, so that is why they are going to be here for my birthday. I am hoping to get batteries and take lots of pictures.

Oh and I will be taking in the Huskers first game which is actully played the 1st. My parents friends are hosting the game/birthday party for me. They have a BIG Screen which makes the Huskers even better. Almost like you are there.

One final thought before I go...............

GO....... BIG...... RED GO BIG RED!!!!!!

Here's what I got

So this is what I have come up with so far. Now I only got two done, but now that I have a few more stamps to play with hopefully I will getting more posted. The first one I made for my husband, even though I am like 2 weeks late, it's the thought that counts, right? The picture with it is on our wedding day.

Next is just one I came up with, I think I will run it over to my mom at work, she is kind of having a bad day so I thought I would take it over to her and maybe get her a slushy or something. Thanks for looking and being patient.

Look what I bought

So I know it has been a while since my last post and so much has happened. My husband and I celebrated our 1st anniversary on August 5. We didn't do anything exciting. My friend Jami and I (crazy daisy creations) had a garage sale last weekend August 10 and 11. And that money is what I used to add to my stamp collection. Everything you see here I purchased at Michael's in their $1 bin. The pattern paper was 4 for a $1 also. So I loaded up. Check back and see what I made!!!!

A littke behind

I am a little behind with posting, sorry. I have had a busy week. My boss and our receptionist were out of town last week so things at work were a little crazy. It was my turn to host "Stamp Club." So I thought I would share what we made. First is our challenge card that we had to make. I like the colors together so I went with it.

Next are the cards we made for the club. I had a lot of fun with it. My mother and GG joined us and I now think I have my mom hooked. She ordered some pattern paper to make Christmas cards with. She is excited.

Thanks for looking!!!!

Finally something new!!

Okay so I have been MIA for awhile and I am sorry, I really have no excuse for it. However I was out of town last weekend for my grandma's 75th birthday. We had a good time, most of my family was there. One aunt and one uncle were missing, but other than that all my grandma's kids were there. It was really good to see everyone. Didn't get a whole lot of pictures but there are a few I got. On the left is my cousin Jessica, next to her my mom, then my grandma, me and next to me is my Uncle Cheezy. His real name is Joe, I think, but we have always called him Cheezy. I figure don't ask, don't tell.
Here is also the card I made for her. We call her GG because she is a great-grandma and instead of the great grandkids saying all of that we shortened it to GG. Pretty easy right? Enjoy and hopefully I will have more to post tomorrow or this weekend. Thanks for not giving up hope on me!! There is suppose to be a "Y" on the last square. I guess that is what I get for keeping in my purse to show it off, right?

To put it nicely

To put it nicely and use a word my dear friend Jami made up, I have been a "blacker." A blog slacker. No real reason why, but I just have. I know I need to post something so here is something.

I am hoping to get a few cards made this weekend, but I really don't need any now. I guess Grandma's birthday is coming up so I suppose I could whip her out a card. Stay tuned to see what I decide to come up with!!

Two more

I am slowly getting into making cards and posting them!!! Yeah for me...so the reason for a post on a Friday, I have a wedding this weekend, one of my high school girlfriends is getting married. So I will be in Lincoln partying with all my old high school friends. It should be a blast!! That is the introduction to my first card, I went with her wedding colors, I think the pink maybe a little brighter than she is using, but I liked it. I thought this was a fitting stamp for a wedding so I went with it. Hope they like it.

Next I am a very bad bride. My husband and I will be married for a year on August 5th and we have not sent out thank yous yet. Bad bride, Bad, Bad!!! I guess we just never got around to them, I really don't have an excuse other than being lazy. My husband said we should just tell everyone we wanted to make sure we would make it to year and I said we should just tell people we wanted to make sure the gifts really worked!! Either way the thank yous are made and should be going out here shortly I hope.

Happy Father's Day!!

So I know it has been a week since I last posted and I really don't have an excuse, but here I am posting now. I finally finished my husband's birthday card, my FIL's father's day card, I also made a card from the stamp set I won from Stamping with {Serendipity}.
We have a friend who shares a birthday with my FIL so I made him a card. He lives in Florida, but is an Auburn fan, so being the ornery people my husband and I are I decided to make him a Husker card!!! GO BIG RED!!! On the inside it says, Herbie Husker says "Happy Birthday!" Hope he likes it!!!
I also have an uncle in the army, he is currently in Afghanistan, I made this card to let him know how much I miss him and how thankful I am that I have the freedom to make cards and share them with you all. Hope he likes it!!!

Good Sunday

Okay, so I had a very creative Sunday afternoon. Well I guess I can't say I did all of these today, two of them I did last Thursday. I have a lot of things coming up in the next week. First my aunt and my husbands uncle share the same birthday which is June 15th. These are the cards I came up with for them.

Next is Father's Day, which now I have two to make. I haven't gotten my FIL done yet, but I need to find some pattern paper that I think looks like him. My dad however was pretty easy to make a card for. He is a firefighter and a pyrotech, who does our local show and has for nearly 15 years. So his card I decided to make it look like fireworks, now if it does or not you tell me!!

On Sunday the 17th not only is it father's day but also my parents 29th wedding anniversary. So my friend Jami has this stamp set that say "I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow." Which is a line from my parents "song." So how appropriate is that for their anniversary card?!?

Finally my husband and my FIL have birthdays on the 19th and 20th of June so I have been working on their cards too. My FIL is a big fisher and hunter so I thought I would play up his hobby and this is what I came up with. I am struggling creatively to come up with something for my husband though. I hope something will come to me in the next few days. Wish me luck and send any ideas you may have my way!! Thanks for look and giving me your input it means a lot!!!

The weekend

Okay so I was a little bit crafty this weekend, depending on how you look at it I guess. My friend Jami and I started a FUN project for her husband and mine to complete. We demolished her bathroom. To see our handy work check out her blog, she is linked on mine, crazydaisy creations. We kicked butt!!!

I did also make a card for my nieces baptism with the "blog candy" that I won from Stamping with {serendipity}. Sorry Pam I was pressed for time and didn't get a picture, but I will get one on Saturday when I babysit.

This weekend was so much fun and also relaxing. My grandmother "GG" and my Uncle Debbie, she is really a girl we just call her Uncle, were here for the baptism. It was really good to see them both. I am a bad Auntie and didn't get any pictures b/c I forgot my camera. Papa took a bunch so I will get some on here real soon. Enjoy your first full week in June and be looking for new pictures and post later this week!!!

Look What I did

Okay so I am new to this blogging thing and tried to fix something and ended up deleting it all. So let's try again.

My niece gets baptized June 3rd. And my sister thinking I am Martha Stewart or something decided that I could make her gown. So my friend Jami, also called Jameson, got started on it Tuesday the 22nd. This is what we have come up with. I hope it fits her and I hope my sister likes it.

First here is what we started with.......

And here is the finished project!!!

2 cards in one night!!!

Tomorrow is one of my patients birthday and I thought it would be nice if I made her a birthday card. She is a hispanic lady who doesn't speak a whole lot of english and doesn't have a lot of friends here in town.

The thank you is also for her and her daughter. On Friday the 25th they brought in homemade enchilldas, rice and salsa. Since I am the resident crafter, I offered to make a card for them letting them know how much we all loved it. Let me know what you think. This is my first ever by myself creation. Jami was not here to help me so I hope they like them.

Busy Saturday

So I actually have something to post. With the help of my friend Jami, I made something this weekend. A few somethings actually.
My parents have 2 graduations today and being the loving daughter that I am, I told my mom I would make her cards for her. This is what I came up with.

Next my niece is getting baptized in two weeks and my sister needed something to send out the great-grandparents to let them know. This is what we came up with, by we I mean Jami and I. Also here is the start of what her gown will look like, and the picture is what is should look like when I am finished with it.
Wish me luck!!!

Not creative this week or recently!

Okay so I know nobody reads this, so I guess I have no reason to post. But I plan on post some of my creations hopefully this weekend. I have been working on a baptismal gown for my niece who is getting baptized on June 3rd. I don't know what my sister was thinking asking me to do this, but I am trying.
She has also asked me to make a few announcements for Grandmother's and a few aunts. So you will get to see those. If you have any ideas on how to make baptismal announcements, please feel free to send them my way!!! Until next time.
